One of my favorite things to do on my days off is to grab the skateboards and cruise around town with my girlfriend Jesse. This is what lead us to trying Cafe in the Park, which is located next door to one of my favorite skateparks in downtown Sarasota. I was craving something that would give me jolt of energy, so I decided to pick up one of their delicious iced coffees.

I wish I had been more hungry at the time so I could have tried one of their “Payne Park Cubans” which is made with their own pork ‘lechon’, prepared the classic Cuban way; two days in a traditional citrus-marinade with crushed pepper, salt, garlic and oregano, sliced thin and then topped with Swiss cheese, pickles and their special mayo-mustard sauce.

They also host live music every Friday from 7:30pm – 9:30pm, check their Facebook for more details. Check out some of the pictures below and enjoy the video we put together of our quick trip. Be sure to stop by if you are in the area and let them know we sent you!
