3. Crystal Pepsi

Crystal Pepsi was introduced into test markets in 1992 in response to a marketing fad that equated clarity with purity. They released the first bottles in Denver, Sacramento, Dallas, Grand Rapids, Providence and after receiving positive feedback they officially launched the product on April 12, 1992 and started shipping nationwide in 1993. The company launched a large marketing campaign that included the worlds first computer generated bus wrap & national commercials airing during Super Bowl XXVII featuring the hit song “Right Now” by Van Halen. Initial sales were good but quickly fell and by fall 1993, Pepsi cancelled the line.
