On August 18, 2018, Rar Brewing held their 4th annual “Dank Day” event, which is a huge craft beer festival that takes place at Sailwinds in Cambridge, MD. Beer lovers from across the country were brought together for a day of sipping some dank brews. Attendees were able to sample some of the best beers in the country from 30+ breweries.
Our friend and writer Taylor Pogue, was at Dank Day this year on behalf of Calusa Brewing and we were able to get the inside scoop.
What did you miss if you were not at Dank Day?
An amazing event on the water showcasing an array of beer from across the country. The brewery list was insane.
Favorite moment of the trip?
Honestly, spotting three Calusa shirts at the event. It was one of the first out of state festivals we’ve attended and we were thrilled to see the support for our beer so far away from home.
The beer you are most excited about (aside from your own)?
My Sharona cans – all weekend.

In one of your Instagram Stories, you were seen on a boat feasting on seafood & beer with a large group, can you elaborate?
So, Jason (our Headbrewer) and I, had to drive 2hrs from the DC airport. Our ETA to the hotel was 5:45 pm and the boat was scheduled to leave at 6 pm. We were cutting it close so we ran up to our hotel room, dropped our stuff and headed down to the dock. We passed the lobby with what it seemed to be a large group of “beer-centric” people. Sure enough, we’re hustling down the dock to turn around and they horde of brewers and brewery reps we’re following us. Thankfully we made it and had a blast devouring some Fried chicken, corn on the cob, and learning how to eat a crab efficiently. We had a great time sitting with our friends from Equilibrium, Interboro, and Aardwolf and met up many more from Deciduous, Civil Society, Unseen Creatures, Finback, and of course RAR.
What beers did you bring?
We brought kegs of Citronious DDH Citra IPA and Foederhead Saison. We smuggled up newly released Stormrage DDH DIPA and Arriba Limon Gose w/ Lime Zest, Coriander, and Sea Salt.
