As glimmering guests arrive for the 77th Golden Globe Awards, they will take their seat in the historic Beverly Hilton hotel to enjoy a gourmet dinner fit for Hollywoods finest. For the first time the meals will be all plant-based recipes, a last minute decision made by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association as an effort to raise more awareness about climate change. In early December a menu was previewed that included fish but HFPA wanted to change the menu to send a good message. The menu may not have meat but it won’t be lacking taste and presentation.
Chilled Golden Beet Soup with locally grown chervil and amaranth.
King Oyster Mushrooms cooked and presented to look like scallops, with wild-mushroom risotto. Accompanied by roasted baby purple and green brussels sprouts, globe carrots and pea tendrils.
Meet executive chefs Matthew Morgan (right) and Thomas Henzi (left) who will be heading up a team of 11 chefs, 120 culinary staff, 50 bartenders, 160 stewards and 250 servers will try to ensure the night’s meal and each of the hotel’s five after-parties are well stocked with food and drinks. 👏
Our industry leads by example. Vegetarian food is delicious and healthy and reduces green house gasses about as much as driving electric cars. The HFPA should be commended for this and all the other awards shows should follow suit. #GoldenGlobeshttps://t.co/qbCib49xYe
