New Belgium Brewing releases Juicy Haze IPA in 2018 as an addition to the Voodoo Ranger lineup. The beer was a response to the growing popularity of unfiltered, hazy IPA’s. It pours pale orange with an opaque haze and bursts with tropical fruit notes from the delicious mix of Citra, Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe, Nugget hops. This one has an ABV of 7.0%.
Southern Tier Brewing have become known for their infamous “Pumking” Imperial Pumpkin Ale that rolls out each fall season but they also brew a variety of tantalizing seasonal treats. One that is perfect for the winter holidays is their 2XMAS ale which combines traditional brewing ingredients with figs, orange peels, cardamom, cinnamon, clove and ginger root. It is a medium bodied ale with a festive ruby red hue.
This one may be harder to find for most people (unless you live near Virginia) because they are not widely distributed. However, we still wanted to add them to our list because it is a great reminder to always check out your local breweries for your seasonal favorites. This Imperial Milk Stout is brewed with baby ginger from Casselmonte Farm and wildflower honey from Bearer Farms. It has a creamy mouthfeel with notes ranging from milk chocolate and vanilla, to honeycomb and cinnamon, to a snap of ginger in the finish.
Each year, Anchor Brewing releases a new batch of their “Our Special Ale”, which is only sold from early October to mid-January. Its recipe and hand-drawn tree change every year which makes the bottles a fun collectible as well.
