Trying Locally Made Beer Soap

You may be asking yourself, “why would anyone want to smell like beer all day?At least I asked myself that question. Scrolling through Instagram, I have seen several artisan handmade soaps that are beer scented and have always been curious. I was intrigued when I saw that Calusa BrewingLolaBlueLiving.com were collaborating to make a soap that was scented like Dissonance, Calusa’s Breakfast Brown Ale that is brewed with cinnamon and coffee beans from local roaster, Black Gold Coffee. The last time I was up at the brewery, a friend of mine that works at Calusa gave me a bar of the Dissonance soap for me to sample and so I decided to share my experience & thoughts.

That night I was eager to take a shower so I could put this soap to the test. The whole drive home, the car smelled like sweet chocolate and cinnamon so I knew that I was probably going to like it. When it was finally time to take a shower, I noticed while using the soap, that the texture is very silky and creamy and created a good deal of lather/foam. The fragrance was sweet and chocolaty, as if someone was baking fresh chocolate croissants. It didn’t feel like it was drying my skin out and my skin felt very fresh and clean. I would high recommend it to anyone that likes dessert-like fragrances. You can visit LolaBlueLiving.com and check out the variety of handmade soaps and see where you buy them.
